The sneeky
approach
The old dragonfly, partially decaying already, finally
climbs to the fold in the flag where he once saw the
prey running to hide.
|
|
Out of reach
The prey, I thought shaking in his limbs, was hiding
under a fold, but he knew he was found. The
dragonfly, however, just could not reach him.
|
|
Climb to the
top
Not ready to accept defeat, the old dragonfly climbs
around the fold and tries to reach his prey from above,
but still to no avail.
|
|
Under his wing
In altruistic fashion another prey comes to the rescue
by distracting the would-be assassin. Soon he
finds himself hopelessly under the wings of this old
predator.
|
|
Face to face
The great escape from sure doom finds the prey face to
face with his predator.
|
|
Tag, you're it
Now I finally learn the prey is not at all afraid of
this old warrior. In a daring attempt to crack up
his on-looking brethren he slowly tags the predator on
the leg.

|
Lost the old
reach
The dragonfly is humiliated with the knowledge that
there really is no contest, and he may as well starve
because the end is coming soon enough.
